Flavored Puto

Have fun making and eating this colorful Filipino snack, Wellnessized by the use of Calcium-rich BEAR BRAND.

INGREDIENTS

Puto Batter:
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups cake flour
1 cup BEAR BRAND Powdered Milk Drink
¾ cup sugar
4 tbsp baking powder
2½ cups water
3 eggs
For pandan flavor – add a drop of pandan flavoring and 2 drops of green food coloring
For cheese flavor – add 2 drops of yellow food coloring and grated cheese on top
For salted egg flavor – add slices of salted egg on top

PROCEDURE

  1. Combine all ingredients for puto batter. Blend well and set aside to rest for at least 1 hour.
  2. Add pandan flavor and green food coloring to make pandan puto, yellow food color and grated cheese for cheese puto and slices of salted egg for salted egg puto.
  3. Pour prepared puto batter in greased small muffin cups about half full. Top with desired topping. Steam for 10 to 15 minutes.
