Chicken Hamonado

Pineapple juice adds a sweet Wellnessized touch to an oh-so juicy and tenderly-cooked chicken special.

INGREDIENTS

1 kg chicken cut into serving pieces
1 8g MAGGI MAGIC SARAP
2 tbsp patis
1 tsp ground white pepper
1 tbsp calamansi juice
cooking oil for deep-frying
½ cup chopped garlic
1 cup pineapple juice
¾ cup sugar
salt to taste
1-2 cups grated cheddar cheese

PROCEDURE

  1. Rub chicken with MAGGI MAGIC SARAP, patis, white pepper and calamansi juice. Leave to marinate for at least 15 minutes. Set aside.
  2. Heat cooking oil. Fry marinated chicken until golden brown. Transfer on a paper lined plate to drain excess oil.
  3. In the same pan, leave 2-3 tbsp of oil. Fry garlic until fragrant and golden brown. Add back prepared chicken.
  4. Pour in pineapple juice. Add sugar and cook until sauce is almost dry. Season with salt to taste. Add grated cheese and cook until cheese melts.
